A profession is said to be regulated when its practice in Switzerland requires professional qualifications (diplomas, training qualifications, certificates), according to a law or ordinance. For many professions, regulation depends on cantonal laws, especially in the health sector. But for some professions, the rules come from federal law. This difference is shown in the third column.
